Toddler Girl's Room Improvements: Princess Closet Treatment

In this post, I talked about how we were in the process of improving Holly's room. It started out as "cupcake themed" and has now progressed into a mix of brown-and-pink-and-cupcake-and-candy-and-princess-and-everything-else-themed.

I decided to start with the biggest thing in her room- her closet- because it would have the biggest impact. When we moved into our current home, the doors on Holly's closet were broken and I decided to keep them off because the room is so small and keeping the doors off really opens the space.

I brainstormed on what to do with the closet, and how to make it cute and girly without doors/without spending too much money. This is what I came up with:

I took a trip to Wal-Mart and purchased a tension rod and two pink curtain panels. Holly decided to creep this photo, but this is what is looked like after we got the curtain panels up.

After the panels were up, I realized how boring the white closet walls were.

I had purchased these wall stickers at Home Sense a while ago for $7.99...

...and placed them on one of Holly's bedroom walls, but I really didn't like the way they looked. So, when I realized they matched the closet panels, I moved them into the back of the closet.

After I moved the wall stickers, I enlisted the boyfriend to help me install these cute little pull-backs that we found at Dollarama. They look princess-y, and I decided that I liked them better upright than horizontally like they're supposed to be. if you're looking for similar ones, these ones are SO cute.

Voila! I took a clothespin and pinned the tops of the panels together at the back to keep them from separating, and it was all finished.

I'm so, so happy with the way this closet turned out. It's like a little princess hideaway, and it hides all of the storage at the top of the closet as well.

Next, we organized all of those stuffed animals on the bottom...a post will follow about that!
