A 2-Firsts-In-1 Review- Deborah Lippmann Nail Polish in "Since I Fell For You" + Essie Nail Appliques in "Sneek-e"

Believe it or not, before last week, I had never tried a Deborah Lippmann polish! I've read and heard the most wonderful things about the brand, so when I finally got the polish in last month's Topbox (review coming next week), I was overjoyed. Further, about 2 months ago, I also received a trial of some Essie Sleek Stick Nail Appliques from a Facebook promotion and just never got around to using them. So, last weekend when my boyfriend and I actually had somewhere to go for once in a blue moon, I decided to dress up my nails with these 2 firsts.

Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in "Since I Fell For You": Basically, I'm in love. The hue of the red is so perfect I can't even believe it. There's just enough shimmer to make it look rich, deep, and multifaceted. I've had some bad experiences with reds, so this one is a definite keeper. As for wear, my boyfriend even commented on how impressed it was. I've been wearing Seche Vite's topcoat over all of my polishes lately, so with that, this polish lasted a week (which is amazing for me). With China Glaze/OPI, I can usually squeeze out 4 days. The polish also applied well, although maybe a bit streaky. I'm definitely going to be looking into purchasing more Deborah Lippmann polishes.

Essie Sleek Stick Nail Appliques: I'm only partially happy. I love the variety of designs that they come in (I have yet to test out about 4 other designs that I received) and I love that they come textured unlike many other brands of nail stickers. What I didn't love about these were the fact that they were very hard to fit to the nail. When I used Sally Hansen's nail polish strips, I found them so easy to use because I could trim them using only my nail. These, on the other hand, are very tough, and actually just like a sticker. You need a set of scissors to cut them, and when your have extremely short nails like I do, that becomes difficult to do. Also, I found that because these appliques are actually just like stickers, they begin to peel up after only about 3 days (more noticeably after being in water). Real nail polish strips do not do this as much in my experience. So, in conclusion, these nail appliques are amazing to add some texture to a nail design for a night or two, but probably aren't the best for long wear.

I found it extremely hard to find good lighting for this colour, but you can check out more photos below.
