Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser and Cleansing Scrub Review

I was recently fortunate enough to be chosen to test and review Biore's new baking soda skin care line through Influenster. Right away, I was impressed with the whole idea of baking soda as an ingredient seeing as I've tried several at-home acne remedies involving baking soda.

I receive a lot of moisturizers and cleansers to review, but rarely any type of scrub or treatment, so I was really looking forward to the scrub and seeing how the cleanser and scrub would work together on my acne prone skin.

What I Liked: This scrub comes in powder form and adding water creates a paste that you can then exfoliate with. I absolutely love this idea. It allowed me to customize the consistency and concentration of the scrub. Beyond that, the baking soda become immediately noticeable when adding water, which was very reassuring.

I used this scrub twice a week for 3 weeks and am very pleased with how it works on my acne prone skin. It's not as harsh as many other scrubs I've tried, and I can really feel it reacting on my skin. The baking soda element is definitely there. It left my skin feeling extremely clean, which I absolutely love. Perfect for days where I wear a full face of makeup.

What I Didn't Like: I personally liked everything about this scrub, but I can see how many others wouldn't. As I mentioned, my skin felt extremely clean after using it, but it also felt dry. Sometimes dryness helps with my acne, but this might be an issue for those with dry skin. Also,  the price is not great. At almost $12 CAD at Walmart , it's a bit more expensive than I expected.

Final Thoughts: This is a unique and innovative scrub that I've already decided I'll be repurchasing. I love that I can customize the paste, that it's not too harsh, and that it seems to be helping with my acne. You can purchase it here.

What I Liked: Like the scrub, I noticed the baking soda element right away. I love the light exfoliation in this cleanser and also how clean it left my skin feeling.

What I Didn't Like: Like the scrub, this cleanser is drying and leaves the skin feeling tight. As I mentioned before, I don't particularly mind this, but I can see how other's would. Unfortunately, this cleanser felt boring to me - like 100 other cleansers I've tried. I probably wouldn't repurchase it.

Final Thoughts: I'm not overly impressed this cleanser, mostly because I've tried at least 10 other cleansers that felt almost the same. There's nothing special about this cleanser or the results it gave me. If you'd like to give it a try, you can purchase it here.
